I work collaboratively with my clients to find a balance between starting where you are and providing the support you need to move towards the goals you have in mind. Using individual psychotherapy, I work with a variety of issues including learning to cope with depression, life transitions, improving relationships, and learning to cope with significant losses. In my experience, a match between a therapist and client is an important part of moving toward your goals. I find it helpful to talk briefly by phone about the concerns you want to address.
ADDITIONAL SPECIALTIES – Anxiety and Substance Use
I specialize in treating anxiety and stress, with an emphasis on helping clients to identify what maintains their anxiety and develop approaches that reduce or eliminate anxiety. This may include:
- Excessive worry
- Social anxiety
- History of trauma or abuse
I also specialize in working with issues related to substance use, and substance addictions. For some this may be the main focus of their work in therapy, for others in may be a symptom of other issues they are needing help with.
